Donations of in-kind items and services are matched with urgent health needs and resource gaps in the U.S. and worldwide – from medicine and medical supplies to logistics expertise and transportation, to innovative technology solutions and platforms.
These collaborations bring together different types of expertise in the nonprofit and corporate sectors to help vulnerable people during complex emergencies and on an ongoing basis.
In-kind contributions are received and housed at Direct Relief’s secure warehouse in Santa Barbara, California. Pharmaceuticals are stored in a secure area licensed by the California State Board of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration.
- Due to industry regulations, Direct Relief cannot accept donations of medical items from individuals.
- Medical product offers are evaluated based on the specific needs of charitable health facilities and programs that Direct Relief supports worldwide.
- Donated medicines must have at least 12 months to expiration date at the time of donation for international shipments and 6 months for domestic/U.S.
- Product donations that Direct Relief is able to receive are limited to knit baby hats and prescription eyeglasses. You can donate these by dropping them off at Direct Relief headquarters.
